Dakota Swain Nomination for the 2017 WIYB Giveaway

I Dakota Swain nominate myself worthy of the toolbox giveaway. Because I twill give me the ability to start work in a shop and be productive the day I turn 18. I am 17 years old and young machining and welding student who has a love for the old school metalworking trades. I have always had an interest in metalworking and trades I have always wanted to work in some kind of a trade, I found some of the different machining videos on YouTube and fell in love with them so when I was in 9th grade as part of our collage and career exploration we had to job shadow someone who works in the career field that we were interested in for a day, so I job shadowed at a small local machining and welding job shop by the end of the day I was offered a guaranteed job at this shop when I turn 18 as a machinist, or a welder, or even just as a shop hand by the owner because of the work ethic and drive he saw in me that day. I have since decided on machining as my main field of study but I also take a lot of welding classes because I think that they are both good skills to have when working in a job shop, I spend on average 12 hours a week taking machining coerces at my local tech collage on top of doing high school during the day, I have completed manual lathe, blueprint reading, manual mill and am getting ready to start the CNC section. I have made a lot of projects for myself and for my high school, the tech collage and for family and friends, my head machining instructor says I have a work ethic an dove for machining that he has rarely ever seen in my generation.  Also hold several AWS D1.1 welding qualifications. I believe that I am a worthy recipient of a machinist toolbox because it mill give me the ability to start being a productive machinist once I am 18 and carry on the love of machining to the next generation.
